These are some pictures we took around town of the trees that were broken by the heavy ice. It is so sad to think how old these trees are and that they have survived such strong winds around here but could not handle the weight of the ice.
I think the most amazing pictures are #'s 1,10,11,12,and 19.
I am sure glad we live in a new neighborhood with tiny little trees that just bent over a little.

Baby, it's cold outside!
Here are some pictures of the ice storm. We were without power most of Monday and for a few hours on Sunday night. We were some of the lucky few that got to sleep most of the night with power. There are still many homes without power and we feel very blessed to have ours back on. Some of the pictures were taken after it had started melting. The pictures do not do it justice. It has been an adventure!

And the winner is...
Scott, my brother in law was asked by his wife (my sister) what I should rename my children on my blog and he said, "Well, that's easy. Ned Nederlander, Dusty Bottoms and Lucky Day from Three Amigos!"I love it. I do not love the movie, but I hope it is popular enough that some people might get the connection.
Thanks so much to those of you that took the time to make a suggestion.
Scott, your prize will be in the mail soon. :)

Special K
K put his own shirt on this morning. He did a really great job, but it was on in-side-out. I told him how proud I was of him for putting his own shirt on without any help (he does it sometimes but he usually says he can't do it and wants help). Then, after lots of praise I convinced him that he needed an undershirt on so that I could take the shirt off and get it back on correctly without making him feel like he had done anything wrong. I love this silly boy!Okay, now on to something I have been trying for a while to find the time to blog about. I am sure you have noticed that I do not use my children's real names in my blog (gotta protect the innocent). Well, I like the names Little L and Big L but I have never liked using K for my middle child. I just could not think of anything better. For some reason I don't like the name Middle K, so I do not know what else to do.
I am really hoping that you all can help me out with this. If you can think of a fun name to call K instead of K please post a comment with your made up name. The creator of the winning name will win something wonderful. I don't know what it will be, it depends on what the winner thinks is wonderful! So, put on your thinking caps and either post a comment or send me an email.
While we are on the subject I just wanted to add that if you happen to use our real names in a comment I will not publish it, this does not mean that I did not appreciate the comment, I just want to keep that private. :) Oh, and if you happen to have a link from your blog to mine (I love that people do that) please list it as ScrapChairPotato, not my real name. Thanks!
(Revision--If you have a good idea for all three of the children then please submit that, it does not have to only be K that you rename)

Partners in crime
This is where we found Little L and Ethan playing yesterday afternoon. They love to get in the fridge together. They are usually trying to get juice or milk. This time it was an egg. Ethan has been asking to eat eggs for the last few days, I guess he was sick of waiting and was ready to make it himself! :)

Not quite what you were hoping for...
I have some photos for you, but I don't think they are what you are expecting. While I do have several cute pictures of my nephews and sons at play, I am posting photos of a very different nature.

Daddy came out of the shower this morning sporting a nasty mustache. I think he may have been inspired by a friend of ours that is having a mustache contest at work. I could not contain my laughter. The boys were so concerned with the new look that K decided he would take care of it on his own. He grabbed the nose hair trimmer and went to work. He and Big L tried their best but did not get rid of much facial hair so K moved on to the nose hairs... Daddy did not enjoy that part so much, I think he would rather do that for himself.
He did not leave the house looking like this but before he shaved we got some really great, and totally disgusting pictures.
Enjoy!

Too busy snuggling to post anything
I am on my way to pick up my sister and her adorable boys from the airport today. So... I think it may be a little while before I get another post written (not too long, but a few days at least). I will try to do it soon, I do have a lot to write about. But, for now I will be spending some good quality time snuggling my nephews (one of which I will be meeting for the first time today, hooray!).
Talk at ya soon. :)
