Thank Heaven...
The best parts are at 1:25 and the last 15 seconds or so. I got some video editing software for Christmas, but give me some time to figure that out.
Get used to these videos. I just can't help myself, this boy can rock!

P is for Porcupine and Potty

They will be talking about Police Officers on Friday; Dusty is pretty excited about that. One of my friends' husband is a police officer, and she is teaching on Friday. So I will post pictures of that later, if I get any.
No, they did not learn about Potties, that part of my post today is brought to you by Lucky... I was in the computer room when I heard a sloshing noise come from the bathroom. I knew I needed to check it out, and I also knew I would find Lucky in the bathroom. I did not know that I would find him in so much mischief!

I think he is mesmerized by the new blue toilet water. (That is why the wet toilet paper wads on the floor and curtain are blue!)
Then I put him up on the stool to wash his hands and I started cleaning up the mess. I heard a splash; I turned around and saw this...

Shhh, don't tell Ned...

Dusty also loved the gorillas. He didn't mind all of the other visitors; he made his way through the crowds to see everything he wanted to see.
They both liked playing on the Lion statue.

It is sometimes annoying to have such unpredictable weather, but it definitely pays to have a day like this to enjoy in the middle of the winter!

Hello there, saggy pants!

So, I was getting Lucky down from dinner tonight and realized I had not changed his diaper all day -- and I mean ALL day. Daddy got him dressed this morning so I didn't even put the first one on.
This is not the first time this has happened. There have been many days in my six and half years with at least one child in diapers (ugh, that is horrible to think about) that I have not changed a diaper until there was a stench in the house that was screaming, "YOUR BABY NEEDS CHANGING!!!"
Just a couple of weeks ago I was putting Lucky in the car and noticed that he was a little soggy. I totally forgot about it until later when he kind of whimpered and walked up to me and I noticed he had wet himself. He looked like my 3 year old after an accident. I thought that his diaper had been on so long that it had leaked. Daddy got ready to change the diaper and as he started to pull off Lucky's pants he said, "What in the world?" I looked over and saw Lucky's diaper was hanging out of his pant leg! Oops! Poor baby was probably wondering what was going on when he started to pee and there was nothing there to catch it.
You would think I would have learned from that and he would never have saggy pants again. Yeah, well...
Tell me I am not the only one that does this. I am looking for some reassurance here, so if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!

Like Father, Like Sons
This happens with all of the little boys in the house too. I know it must be annoying to have a scrapbooker as a wife/mom. I take so many pictures, let's say an average of 500 per month (and that is probably too low). You see, I have to get the best shot possible, even if it takes 50 pictures to get the perfect picture of the baby crawling for the first time. If I am going to spend the time to scrapbook it, it better be good!
So, I understand when my family gets tired of me taking their picture, but if they would just do what I want it would be over so much faster. Sometimes these crazy expressions are not on purpose, but are often intentional (very often as the boys get older). Usually the problem is that I want everyone to continue to do what they were doing and act naturally, but the camera comes out and they just can't help themselves!
I found some pictures of all of the boys (including Daddy) where they have a funny look on their face. With so many pictures taken each month there are bound to be some interesting shots. I probably get more completely crazy pictures than I do really great shots. So why not show these off too?

And the winner is...
Scott, my brother in law was asked by his wife (my sister) what I should rename my children on my blog and he said, "Well, that's easy. Ned Nederlander, Dusty Bottoms and Lucky Day from Three Amigos!"Friday, November 23, 2007

Lucky Day
Yotion (Lotion)
Somping (something)
January 2, 2010- After being told to go to bed several times Lucky comes out of his room and says, "Mommy, I can't go to sleep." And then he closes his eyes tightly for a moment and then opens them wide again and says, "See."
July 2009- Lucky has started to get a little attitude lately. When I tell him over and over again to get to bed, he will finally go and say, "Okaaaaaaay!"
November 2008- When I say, "I love you, Lucky." Lucky says, "I love you, Mommy, (long pause) too!"
September, 2008-When walking home from Ned's school one day we saw a St Bernard and Lucky barked and said, "Goggy!" But when we got closer to the dog he said, "Mooooo!"
St Bernards are big dogs, they do look like they could be cows!
August, 2008-Lucky has just started saying his brothers (real) names a lot. He says Ned's name really well. He says Dusty's name Tautee or Teetee.
May 2008-Lucky does not say very many words, but when his brother, Ned is playing Guitar Hero he loves to say, "You Rock!!" and hold up his devil horns sign when the song is over.
Feb. 2, 2008-After Gordon B. Hinckley’s funeral on the internet I was watching a show about his life. They were talking about when he was first called as an apostle. They showed him speaking at the pulpit at General Conference. Lucky climbed up onto the computer chair and when he saw President Hinckley at the pulpit, speaking with such a sweet, quiet voice, he folded his arms and bowed his head, ready for a prayer.
Jan. 24, 2008-At Lucky's Doctor appointment he was:
35 inches tall
26.2 pounds
He was 95th percentile for height, 50th for weight and 90th for head circumference. When the nurse was getting ready to measure his head I told her that it was probably going to be off the charts. She said that he was proportioned well with his height. Daddy says he is only that tall because his head is so big!
Dec. 2007 -Signed "food and "more" for the first time without being prompted.
Dec. 2007- I can't remember how long it has been since he has been doing this, but at least 3 or 4 months. He hums, sings, screams, (whatever noise he decides at the moment) the ABC's melody. He knows it so well. When he began doing it I was in denial for a few days before I realized he was being pretty consistent with it and it was not just my imagination.
