Friday Favorites

Since I have not blogged in a while I thought I would let you know I am alive by sharing a few things I have enjoyed reading lately. I have been a slacker with blogging and reading blogs, so it is hard to choose since I only read the good stuff (not that the other stuff I don't read isn't good, I just don't even know if it is good because I don't take the time to read it).

I might just gobble up my baby one day, like CJane.

I want SO badly to look good in this dress, and afford it for that matter.

I cried when I read this sweet post, and now want to see the ultrasound video.

I was reminded how much I really want to go to Utah to get more of these.

A friend told me about these and I MUST have them in my life! (No, I don't wonder why I can't lose my baby weight, I know exactly why it is still here-- my pregnancy with Buttercup started a fierce addiction to baked goods.)

5 months

Photobucket

Buttercup is 5 months old, already. We really can't imagine our lives without her.
This past month Buttercup and I took a trip to Utah and while we were there she started to play with her toes and has been giggling more and more. The Amigos missed her so much. When I got off the plane they all gave me a hug and then started hugging and kissing their sister. It was one of the sweetest things I have seen in my life. I could hear the ooohs and ahhhhs from all of the people near us in the airport.

S'mores

I dedicate this post to my aunts that told me I need to blog more because they are not on Facebook to see the pictures I post each day of Buttercup and the Amigos. Hi, Aunties!

While I was in Utah last week visiting family I got some HUGE marshmallows that my cousin had talked about on Facebook. The boys could hardly wait to toast them tonight.

To show you how big they really are I will show you El Guapo taking his second bite of one.

Crazy, right?

They were kind of hard to roast because they were so big and heavy. I think it would have been easier if we had used something other than wire hangers, but we were being resourceful.

The marshmallows are so big that you can use two whole graham crackers and an entire Hershey's bar. Yum!

They were enjoyed by all.

Well, all but one...

One day, Buttercup. One day.

I am seriously considering having my sister send a few bags of the marshmallows and throwing a s'mores party on National S'mores Day, which is August 10th (who knew?)
Anybody in?

4 months

I am a bit late on this, but I have to share Buttercup's 4 month picture with her giraffe.
Photobucket

She had her 4 month check up the other day and she has gone from being in the 6th percentile at 2 weeks old (I know, so tiny!) to being in the 80th percentile! She is turning out to be like the Amigos. They were all chunky babies. She was something like the 75th percentile for her height also. I think she just about doubled her weight in a month and a half.

We decided to start Buttercup on solid food today. I think at first she was wondering what we (Dusty, Ned and Grandma D) were doing standing around the table looking at her.
Photobucket

I think she would have been satisfied to sit and chew on her bib for a while. I love watching babies first learn to bring things to their mouths. So cute.
Photobucket

This is what she thought of the rice cereal.

She definitely liked the bib better.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better and she will get more in her tummy than on her face.

Buttercup's Blessing Day

{10/9/10} I could swear I published this at one point, but I was looking trough my posts and saw this as a draft. Maybe I had gone back to add a picture, or edit it or something. (okay, now that I posted it I see that I in fact had posted it at one point. Who know why it was saved as a draft. Very strange.)

April 25th was Buttercup's blessing day. It was a beautiful blessing, and Buttercup looked beautiful too.

We got the dress online, but the sash, headband, bracelet and both blankets were made by me, my sister, and a few really great friends. Thanks, ladies!

I wanted to paint her toes to match her sash. When I found the perfect pretty pale pink color it was called Nasty Girl. Seriously?

We sure love this little girl. It was a great day!

Up to the highest height!

Today is Ned's 9th birthday. While at the store this morning he bought a kite. I always cringe when my kids buy kites because they never fly and are always broken within a few days (probably what we get for buying $1 kites). But today was another story. Ned got his kite up, with a little assistance from mommy, on the first try!
Photobucket

We were quite proud of ourselves.

It was very exciting to see it up so high in the air!

I think we will have to go buy a few more kites and try to recreate the final scene of Mary Poppins.

Go ahead, watch the video, it just might make your day!

3 months

Photobucket

Yep, another month has flown by. Buttercup is changing before our eyes. She now smiles, coos and yesterday she laughed for the first time at Ned. She loves the silly faces he makes for her.

She was blessed last Sunday. I have been working on those pictures and will post them soon.
