Buttercup would not put the giraffe down for this picture. She really loves that thing.
I feel like the difference between this and last month's pictures is so drastic. It is amazing how fast she is growing. She is so sweet. She lights up our whole family. Babies just do that, don't they?
This girl is like the sun. Our world revolves around her.

I resolve...

~to blog more often.

~to (try to) not worry so much about what other people think about what I write.

~to not feel the need to edit every picture I post.

~to (maybe even) publish a post without any pictures.

~to (try to) not obsess over whether my grammar or punctuation is correct.

~to show my children how much I enjoyed their childhood by continuing to write positively about it on my blog, and share it with them now, and when they are older.

~to remember why I started this blog in the first place.

...because I want to remember.

I just realized I have not posted this here yet. Buttercup is now a sitter. She and the amigos are so happy about it, too. As I type she is playing Legos with them. It is so fun to see them all play together.

6 months

Half a year has passed too quickly. I am just hoping the second half will be a little slower with the boys in school.

Photobucket
Obviously Buttercup is getting too big to take pictures like this, on the bean bag with a blanket behind her. Hopefully by next month she will be sitting up and we will have more options.

El Guapo taught Buttercup to blow raspberries this past month. She loves to do it and it is often how she greets those that she loves.
She loves to eat her toes. I gave her a doll for the first time the other day and the only way she wants to hold it is upside down so she can chew on it's feet too.
She has only rolled over a few times. She does not have much floor time in this house full of rambunctious boys.
Her hair has started to fill in a little bit. Sh has about an inch of fuzz all over her head, with about 15 four inch long pieces. Her hair looks a lot like Ned's did when he was a baby, but maybe a little darker. He was the only one without curls at a year old. I hope that is just because we lived in a drier climate at the time and even if Buttercup's hair is just like his she will have some curl. We'll see.

In a few weeks Buttercup and I will have half a day to ourselves. It will be great! We will miss the boys, but it will be nice to hang out, just the two of us. I will enjoy snuggling her without The Amigos trying to get a squeeze in too.

Friday Favorites

Since I have not blogged in a while I thought I would let you know I am alive by sharing a few things I have enjoyed reading lately. I have been a slacker with blogging and reading blogs, so it is hard to choose since I only read the good stuff (not that the other stuff I don't read isn't good, I just don't even know if it is good because I don't take the time to read it).

I might just gobble up my baby one day, like CJane.

I want SO badly to look good in this dress, and afford it for that matter.

I cried when I read this sweet post, and now want to see the ultrasound video.

I was reminded how much I really want to go to Utah to get more of these.

A friend told me about these and I MUST have them in my life! (No, I don't wonder why I can't lose my baby weight, I know exactly why it is still here-- my pregnancy with Buttercup started a fierce addiction to baked goods.)

5 months

Photobucket

Buttercup is 5 months old, already. We really can't imagine our lives without her.
This past month Buttercup and I took a trip to Utah and while we were there she started to play with her toes and has been giggling more and more. The Amigos missed her so much. When I got off the plane they all gave me a hug and then started hugging and kissing their sister. It was one of the sweetest things I have seen in my life. I could hear the ooohs and ahhhhs from all of the people near us in the airport.

S'mores

I dedicate this post to my aunts that told me I need to blog more because they are not on Facebook to see the pictures I post each day of Buttercup and the Amigos. Hi, Aunties!

While I was in Utah last week visiting family I got some HUGE marshmallows that my cousin had talked about on Facebook. The boys could hardly wait to toast them tonight.

To show you how big they really are I will show you El Guapo taking his second bite of one.

Crazy, right?

They were kind of hard to roast because they were so big and heavy. I think it would have been easier if we had used something other than wire hangers, but we were being resourceful.

The marshmallows are so big that you can use two whole graham crackers and an entire Hershey's bar. Yum!

They were enjoyed by all.

Well, all but one...

One day, Buttercup. One day.

I am seriously considering having my sister send a few bags of the marshmallows and throwing a s'mores party on National S'mores Day, which is August 10th (who knew?)
Anybody in?
