Ned usually asks how our day was

and sometimes he draws us pictures

Dusty draws pictures also

sometimes he has us write the questions for him

I think it will be so fun to read these in 20 years or so. Plus, my hope is that this will be a way that my boys can communicate things with us that might be hard for them to say to us face to face. So far it has been really fun and I am glad that I started it. Thanks for the great idea, Mom!

Kevin's aunt used a stuffed gorilla for communication with her kids......that gorilla is still around and is a big part of their life. She would use it all the time....like with notes on it at the front door saying "you are past curfew," so that it wasn't so confrontational but they knew. I've always thought that was such a good idea! Syd is always leaving me notes when she's in trouble...she'll slip them under the door or tape them to the wall so I'll see them in the morning. Ha ha ha.
Katee,
Another great idea to copy! I might have to consider that. That or a stuffed elephant. :)
That is such a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
I actually think I was 7 when Mom and I did that. It is a great idea. I hope I can remember it when my kids get a little bit older.
I loved doing that notebook with Emily. I copied the idea from her teacher. I wish I had done that with all of my children and for a longer period of time.
i love this idea! i think we'll have to start that around here.
